About Regent Academy and our creative courses
From Regent Street to yours
How we started delivering distance learning creative courses directly to your home.
We wanted to create a college that would enable people to access their own creativity, no matter where they live or what they do for a living, so we gathered experts from within the creative industries to write and tutor quality creative courses.
Three decades ago, we opened our first headquarters in Regent Street, an area steeped in cultural history and at the centre of London’s creative industries.
Thirty years on, over 90,000 people from around the world have studied a distance learning course with us and unlocked their creative potential on their terms.
Creativity, on your terms
Our creative course materials are easy to pick up, well-written and clearly structured, so whatever your routine, it’s easy to progress.
What’s more, you can start your course whenever you want and hand in your work when it’s ready. No waiting around for the term to begin. No deadlines to disrupt your day-to-day.
Taught by experts
Our tutors are experts in their subjects and are dedicated to giving students the support and encouragement they need. Tutors also personally mark assignments and provide positive and constructive feedback, helping students to master each lesson.
Our students can contact their personal tutor throughout the course for helpful advice or to get any questions answered, and the support doesn’t stop there.
We’re proud to continue providing personal tutor support to all of our students after they’ve completed their studies.

City & Guilds
Upon completion of selected creative courses, you will qualify to be awarded our City & Guilds certificate1.
You can add this to your CV to demonstrate to prospective employers and potential clients that you have recognised skills.
We are a City & Guilds approved centre, proving we have appropriately qualified and experienced tutors, with the equipment and resources necessary to conduct training and assessments to the appropriate standard.
Quality Licence Scheme
With select courses, you will also qualify to receive the Quality Licence Scheme Certificate of Achievement2.
Regent Academy has undergone an external quality check to ensure that we and the courses we offer under the Quality Licence Scheme, meet defined quality criteria. The Quality Licence Scheme endorses high-quality, non-regulated provision and training programmes.
The Quality Licence Scheme is part of the Skills and Education Group, a charitable organisation that unites education and skills-orientated organisations that share similar values and objectives. With more than 110 years of collective experience, the Skills and Education Group’s strategic partnerships create opportunities to inform, influence and represent the wider education and skills sector.
The completion of these courses alone may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills gained. The Learner Unit Summary may be used as evidence towards Recognition of Prior Learning if you wish to progress your studies in this subject. To this end, the learning outcomes of the course have been benchmarked at Levels 2, 3 or 4 against level descriptors published by Ofqual to indicate the depth of study and level of demand/complexity involved in successful completion by the learner.
Association of Distance Learning Colleges (ADLC)
We are a member college of the ADLC. This shows that we follow a rigorous code of ethics that gives you an assurance of quality and fair dealing. It also demonstrates that we keep up to date with good practice in distance learning.
